Chris Herndon serves as Managing Director and Chief Technologist at MorganFranklin. He joined MorganFranklin with 20 years of experience in senior communications and IT roles. An early pioneer in network and communications technologies, Chris' focus on wireless techniques led him to develop converged network architectures long before the industry adopted net-centricity and Everything over IP. He brings expertise in RF engineering, data and transmission engineering, cyber security, information assurance, wireless, satellite, data systems planning, emergency management, project management, design, deployment, optimization, interoperability, and operations.
Today Chris spends the majority of his time supporting the cyber needs of MorganFranklin clients. This includes building and defending critical infrastructures with updated methods of protection for sensitive data and pre-patent or intellectual property. Chris regularly facilitates information sharing and collaboration among industry, academic, and government organizations that are responsible for cyber security.
Chris provides strong vision and leadership to ensure that the company and its clients effectively leverage technology to achieve and maintain a sustainable competitive advantage and efficiencies. Chris continues to advise in the areas of technology platforms, information systems security, acquisition of financial services systems, application architecture development, strategic technology partnerships, and technology life cycle management. He also participates in due diligence reviews of major systems acquisition.

But when your clients realize that you can solve a problem that others have not been unable to, it doesn't get any better than that."Prior to joining MorganFranklin, Chris held positions as an architect of the Presidential Communications Upgrades for the White House, director of the Tactical Technologies Development Lab at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, and program manager and senior systems engineer for key programs at agencies such as the White House Communications Agency, National Institute of Justice, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army Aviation, Navy and Marine Corps TENCAP, and National Reconnaissance Office.
Chris earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering under the Cooperative Education Program at the University of Maryland. He is also an active member of the Military Operations Research Society and the Alexandria Rotary. Chris maintains an active schedule of speaking engagements and has been cited in numerous technical articles both in print and online. He is also the named inventor on a U.S. Navy patent application and registered trademark.
