Meet Tamara Nolan.
What do you think is unique about the culture at MorganFranklin?
MorganFranklin’s entrepreneurial culture sets us apart from other companies. MorganFranklin fosters an environment where openness and adaptability are valued, and results are rewarded.
What is your role at MorganFranklin, and what do you do?
I am working with an amazing team to build out MorganFranklin’s business and operational resilience practice, which helps our clients manage adverse events that have the potential to negatively impact their revenue, reputation, and brand.
Please tell us about your professional background and what led you to pursue a career at MorganFranklin.
I started my resilience journey in consulting 25 years ago. After spending a decade with a great boutique firm, I decided to pursue opportunities with Big 4 consulting firms, which is where I spent most of my time before joining the amazing team at MorganFranklin. MorganFranklin’s culture resonated with me from the moment I had my first, exploratory interview, and the more I learned about the firm, the more I knew that this is where I would like to continue to build my career.
What appealed to you about a career working in Cybersecurity/Business Continuity?
The diverse nature of business continuity and cybersecurity work is incredibly appealing. No two engagements are alike.
What three things do you need to be successful in your role at MorganFranklin?
- Colleagues and leadership who value entrepreneurship
- Willingness to adapt to the diverse needs of our clients
- Openness to the various viewpoints and skill sets our colleagues bring to engagements
Before working at MorganFranklin, what was the most unusual or interesting job you had?
I’m very fortunate to have selected an exciting and dynamic career path. One of my most interesting opportunities was consulting to a Federal government agency in Washington, D.C. during and after the 9/11 terror attacks. I was able to support real-time crisis management activities while working in the agency’s emergency operation center.
What’s one go-to office hack that makes your day more productive?
Prioritization is key. Always focus on the most important tasks first. Personally, my workday tends to begin at 5a.m., which allows me to accomplish key tasks before the traditional workday starts.
Where was the most interesting place you traveled to (domestic or international), and why?
Having been born and raised in Germany, I had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe. Each country in Europe to which I have traveled has extremely rich history. From the 2,000-year-old, renowned cathedral in Cologne to the medieval stronghold Blarney Castle to Paris’ Louvre, it’s impossible to select just one!
What does an ideal Saturday look like for you?
My ideal Saturday night consists of quality time with my husband, our 14-year old Australian Shepherd, our black lab, and the sweetest cat in the world that we acquired last year after we found him hanging out in our backyard!
What is your motto or personal mantra?
Every problem can be solved with hard work and assiduity.
